• B.E.S.T. - (Balanced Enhancement of Skills and Talents) for Grade School
and High School (new feature)
• R.E.P.L.A.Y. – (Real-life and Emergent Program and Learning Activities for the
Young) for Preschool
* R.E.P.L.A.Y. and B.E.S.T. are interdisciplinary approaches that allow
students to learn through integration of topics and skills, with application to
real-life situations. In these programs, students are made to find or
construct meaning from what they are doing through active learning
experiences. Different centers/stations provide opportunities for students
to discover their potentials and enrich further their talents and skills.
• D.C.I.A. (Differentiated Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment) – Multiple
intelligences, learning styles of various learning modalities, interests and
readiness of students are considered in the delivery of
instruction.
• P.L.E.D. (Positive Learning Environment Through Discipline)
* P.L.E.D. is an institutional practice aimed to optimize the students’ learning
through an academic atmosphere which has order, propriety and discipline,
inside and outside the classroom. P.L.E.D. guides teachers and students to
be responsible in their roles while performing their tasks in a highly positive
environment.
• C.A.I. (Computer-Assisted Instruction) – C.A.I. uses computer programs to
support skills across the curriculum.
• U.S.S.R. (Uninterrupted Sustained Silent Reading)
* Sudents, teachers and staff collectively read any educational reading
materials for 20 minutes every month to gain additional knowledge, and
to enhance the development for love of reading among students and
emphasize the importance and benefits of reading among the members
of the SMC community.
• Values Convocation
* The students are exposed to practical applications of focused pre-
determined values in for each week.
* “Good Deeds” chart of students who demonstrated specific character traits.
1. Mufti Day
• Mufti day or Dress Down is a fun day in which students are permitted to wear
casual clothes (or costumes related to the theme) rather than uniforms. Mufti
days include games and other exciting learning activities related to the theme
of the month.
2. Interest Clubs
• Interest clubs are enrichment programs based on students’ interests and
talents.
3. BRIGHT START SUMMER PROGRAM
• The one week program is offered free to students ages 3 to 10 years old
• It is designed for students who want to experience SMC creative activities
4. Math Enhancement Workshop (new feature)
• The workshop is a one week program is offered to (first and second) high
school students who are interested to discover their mathematical potentials.
