DEFINITION – What is it?
On our 18th year, and at the time of the pandemic, we would like to bring together our school community, live our motto, “Oui Je Peux,” and chant our mantra louder - “Yes I Can!” through the launching of the ROYALS OLYMPICS.
The ROYALS OLYMPICS is a year-long school event following the House System and Rewards, which is a tradition that originated from England. Similar to our Intramurals, the Royals Olympics connects all grade levels within the school (PS to Grade12), giving students an opportunity to further develop skills and experiences in order to become confident individuals and outstanding members of the school.
The Royals Olympics provides enjoyable and competitive events that encourage students to develop the AVID. As students take this challenge to participate in academics, sports, cultural and other co-curricular activities, they may gain merit points, both individually and collectively for their House. This in turn, will promote healthy competition and allow a sense of mentoring and leadership to build up between the older and the younger students. Through positive interaction across levels, student relationships improve. Children of all ages feel a sense of family and belongingness. Positive peer relations get students involved in activities in order to support their house and students gain a sense of pride in being able to contribute. The further purpose of each house is to guide and support the academic, social, emotional, and personal development of each student.

The Typhoon Odette has devastated many parts of the Visayas and Mindanao when it hit around 6 regions of the country last December 2021. Billions of pesos of properties and agricultural products were affected and lives were lost during its catastrophic landfall.
In the spirit of generosity and service, the SMC community spearheaded by the Supreme Student Council and the Junior Student Council organized the Operation Paglingap to collect cash donations to help alleviate the hardships that the victims experienced such as lack of potable water and food. Last January 3, 2022, the proceeds amounting to Php26,250.00 were turned over to the Non-Government Organization (NGO) Mission Isla, Sogod Malitbog, Southern Leyte.
Last January 14, 2022, part of the 18th Founding Anniversary, we conducted the South Mansfield for Others (SFO) by distributing relief goods to the 33 families that were left homeless by the December 29, 2021 fire at Ilat, South Greenheigts, Muntinlupa City. The event was joined by Mr. Jerwin Derilo (Head of Student Affairs), Mr. Charles Abedejos Jr. (PR and Marketing Head), Ms. Sharys Unica (HR), Mr. Jomar Aranilla (Librarian, representing the staff), Mr. Herman Constantino (representing the housekeeping team), and Marie Gabrielle Opiña (representing the students). Dr. Rolly Donato, School Principal, thanked the Officers of the Homeowners Association as well as the Barangay Putatan Officials for the opportunity that they gave SMC to share the blessings from the students and parents.
The South Mansfield for Others (SFO) is SMC’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program that provides cash donations and relief goods to those who are affected by natural disasters and calamities. Through the Operation Paglingap, SMC donates annually to NGOs and GMA Kapuso Foundation to help in alleviating the hardships that the victims of Typhoons and other calamities encounter.
