Dr. Genevieve V. Ledesma – Tan has carved a considerable niche in the business industry through her leadership achievements in the academe.
Among the establishments that she created are Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), Southville Foreign University, SEED Foundation Academy, Asian Association of School Human Resources Practitioner, Inc. (AASHPI), and Southville Educational Estates. She is co-founder and Director of Career and Corporate Consultants. She is the moving spirit behind the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN), a consortium of seven (7) schools pioneering in transnational and international education namely Southville International School and Colleges, Southville Foreign University, South Mansfield College in Muntinlupa City, SEED Academy, Stonyhurst/Southville International School – Malarayat in Lipa City, Stonyhurst/Southville International School – Batangas in Batangas City, and South Seed – Las Piñas Doctors Hospital College.
For her vision and commitment, she was among the 10 Go Negosyo Filipina Starpreneurs awardees of 2011. She was honored with an Outstanding Alumna award by Silliman University where she graduated cum laude, with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Literature. She holds a diploma in Industrial Relations from the University of the Philippines, a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology, and a Doctorate Degree in Philosophy, major in Psychology. Exhibiting a keen interest in the field of education, she attended special studies in prestigious universities abroad such as University Associates, California; Azusa Pacific University, California; National Training Laboratories, Colorado; and Harvard University, Cambridge.
To make sure that SMC delivers its commitments, a faculty, staff, and officers development program has been designed by Dr. Tan to assist employees gain expertise in their field of work. The program is clustered into various groups such as Faculty, Non-teaching Staff, Officers, Middle Managers, Support Staff, Maintenance, and Outsource.
Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Tan, the founder of Southville, started small with only six students; among them, her two children. But because of her commitment to providing high-quality education, Southville fast became an accredited international school with more than 1,500 students. Now, she is the institution’s Chief Executive Mentor whose visionary leadership breathes life to the name Southville in the academic community.
