Royals share blessings through the Operation Paglingap

The Typhoon Odette has devastated many parts of the Visayas and Mindanao when it hit around 6 regions of the country last December 2021. Billions of pesos of properties and agricultural products were affected and lives were lost during its catastrophic landfall.

In the spirit of generosity and service, the SMC community spearheaded by the Supreme Student Council and the Junior Student Council organized the Operation Paglingap to collect cash donations to help alleviate the hardships that the victims experienced such as lack of potable water and food. Last January 3, 2022, the proceeds amounting to Php26,250.00 were turned over to the Non-Government Organization (NGO) Mission Isla, Sogod Malitbog, Southern Leyte.

Last January 14, 2022, part of the 18th Founding Anniversary, we conducted the South Mansfield for Others (SFO) by distributing relief goods to the 33 families that were left homeless by the December 29, 2021 fire at Ilat, South Greenheigts, Muntinlupa City. The event was joined by Mr. Jerwin Derilo (Head of Student Affairs), Mr. Charles Abedejos Jr. (PR and Marketing Head), Ms. Sharys Unica (HR), Mr. Jomar Aranilla (Librarian, representing the staff), Mr. Herman Constantino (representing the housekeeping team), and Marie Gabrielle Opiña (representing the students). Dr. Rolly Donato, School Principal, thanked the Officers of the Homeowners Association as well as the Barangay Putatan Officials for the opportunity that they gave SMC to share the blessings from the students and parents.

The South Mansfield for Others (SFO) is SMC’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program that provides cash donations and relief goods to those who are affected by natural disasters and calamities. Through the Operation Paglingap, SMC donates annually to NGOs and GMA Kapuso Foundation to help in alleviating the hardships that the victims of Typhoons and other calamities encounter.
