South Mansfield Royals did it again! Fourteen high school students joined the prestigious Liyab ‘18—16th NCR-wide Journalism Press Conference held at the Philippine Normal University last October 03 and 06, 2018.

With the theme, “Lagablab ng Pluma: Pagpapaningas ng mga Pahayagang Pangkampus bilang Alternatibong Midya,”  the event was highlighted by seminars and competitions on news writing, feature writing, sports writing, editorial cartooning, copy reading and headline writing, and photojournalism.

Fatima Rabanera from Grade 9 Integrity landed in the top 8 in Sports Writing (Filipino). The team was composed of Miguel Secuando, Marvin Refran, Esther Pre, Chantel Peji, Heleina Hao, Angela Balagon, Marc De Ungria, Aliyah Delen, Armelia Santos, Arielle Alejandro, Josh Vidal, Juliana Argana, and Abby Barrion.

More than 600 students from among 50 schools in Metro Manila participated in the event sponsored by The Torch Publications. The event aims to develop students’ journalistic writing skills on different genres.

The students were trained by our able English and Filipino Teachers in High School.
