SMC ballerinas shine in national tourney

South Mansfield Ballet Group showed grace and captured the hearts of the judges and audience during the ABAP (Association of Ballet Academies, Philippines) Ballet Competition 2019.

The team, composed of Sophia Marguerite B. Abanador, Kristine Ysabelle D. Dela Cruz, Kirsten Wynett G. Gorospe, Luis Amber D. Pedlaoan, and Angelica Grace Nadunza,  won Third Runner-up in the Open Category Group A—Girls.

Angelica Grace Nadunza ranked 7th in the Junior 1B solo Classical category.

Sophia and Kristine, on the other hand, participated in the Junior 2A Classical category.

For over two decades, ABAP has been at the forefront in the development of dance in its various forms through its affiliated members around the country. Founded in 1993, ABAP has gained grounds in the upgrading of classical ballet education through workshops, performances, tours, and other related activities. It is the country’ s longest existing organization of dance academies. Its objective is to strive towards the highest standards of teaching for its students and uphold the dignity and ethics that form the backbone of ABAP’s core values.
