SMC athletes show prowess in sports competitions

South Mansfield College not only enhances skills in leadership but also in sports.

In basketball, the Midgets Boys Varsity Team remains strong in the ongoing APSAM Sports Fest. Last October 19, 2019, the team finally defeated the defending champions PAREF Southridge  with a score of 53-52 in favor of SMC.  In the past games, they won over South Crest School, Maria Ferrari School, and Mountaintop Christian Academy.

The team is composed of Jalil Cartagena, Prince Salinas, Jose Iñigo Barbosa, Yñigo Delen, Polo Barbosa, Paolo Hermosa, Jacob Portillo, Jax Patdu, Jed Clavecilla, Luis Gargollo, Kean Carait, Raven Carpio, JC Zuño,  Jason Manansala, and Niño Baloran.

Last October 21, 2019, Natalie Ovryl Valenzuela, Prince Salinas, VonGabriel Polo Barbosa, and Fredrick Nathan Rosales demonstrated their skill in the 2019 DepEd Muntinlupa PRISAA Selection Nathan bagged Silver Medal in Mixed Pair Poomsae and Gold Medal in Individual Poomsae Event.  Ovryl  also won  Silver Medal in Mixed Poomsae and Bronze Medal in Individual Poomsae Event while Prince got Gold Medal in the Kyorugi Event. Polo also won Bronze Medal in the Kyorugi Event.

 The Taekwondo Team is under the tutelage of Coach Dani Justo while the Midgets Boys  Varsity is under the helm of Coach Paolo Leyva.
