SMC Royals shine in SGEN Music and Monologues

South Mansfield Royals showcased their talents in the performing arts and captured the hearts of the judges and audience during the SGEN Music and Monologues 2022.

Last April 8, 2022, Special Awards in the Monologue Category were given to the students who presented the monologue prior to the performance of the solo singing. Jeremiah Revecho (Grade 11 Responsibility) was awarded the Francisco Balagtas Awards for being a “makata” in presenting his piece. On the other hand, Fatima Rabanera (Grade 12 Excellence) was awarded the Most Expressive Performance Monologue.

For the Musical/Broadway Category, Reggie Mae Novelo (Grade 12 Excellence) was the Grand Champion with her rendition of Speechless by Naomi Scott from the movie Aladdin. Reggie Mae also got the People’s Choice Award for having obtained the most reactions in the YouTube Channel of SSIS Malarayat. She bested other contestants from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), Stonyhurst Southville International School Batangas City (SSIS-B), Stonyhurst Southville International School Lipa City (SSIS-M), and the Asian SEED Academy of Technology (ASAT).

In the Pop Category, Hannah Zuñiga (Grade 9 Integrity) proudly represented South Mansfield College.

The Music and Monologues aims to create a venue for SGEN students to showcase their talents in the performing arts. It highlights singing and acting through monologues and songs.
