SMC delegation declared most outstanding in YMCA national convention

Being true to the innate quality of excellence with hearts of service, 13 SMC high school students represented the school extraordinarily well and brought home the bacon during the 31st  YMCA National Assembly in Baguio City.

Last November 3-6, 2019, our high school students became a team to reckon by having their presence felt by the participants in the national convention for the youth.

The following are the prestigious awards that our SMC Royals received during the conference:

  1. Most Outstanding Delegation (out of 42 schools)
  2. Outstanding Delegates— Rhea Eloiza Ibay (Grade 12 Excellence) and Dianne Villena (Grade 12 Excellence)
  3. Elected as Chairpersons— Dianne Villena (Speaker Pro-Tempore) and Rhea Eloiza Ibay
  4. YMCA Lakan 2019 Third Runner up — Fresnel Caniga (Grade 12 Excellence)
  5. YMCA Lakambini Third Runner up—Nathalie Hirshbein (Grade 12 Excellence)

The Most Outstanding Delegation award was based on the points accumulated through the participation of the whole team composed of Rafael Masicat (Grade 7 Justice),  Whischelle Ama (Grade 9 Integrity),  April Jazzmin Joson (Grade 9 Integrity),  KC Ambing (Grade 9 Integrity), Alexandra Castillejo (9 Integrity), Catherine Murray (Grade 10 Resilience), Natalie Hirshbein (Grade 12 Excellence), Sarah Wileman (Grade 12 Excellence),  Angela Balagon (Grade 12 Excellence), Dianne Villena (Grade 12 Excelelnce), Rhea Ibay (Grade 12 Excellence), Arielle Alejandrino (Grade 12 Excellence), and Fresnel Caniga (Grade 12 Excellence).

 

The YMCA National Assembly of High School Students is a gathering of selected student leaders from different public and private high schools nationwide. It is a venue by which they could share their views and ideas about current issues and concerns affecting their lives. They are provided an opportunity to formulate concrete plan of actions that they may implement in their respective schools.

The team was coached by Mr. Kit Del Mundo, Ms. Winona Morales, Mr. Jerwin Derilo, and Ms. Jenny Pre.
