In line with the goal that students experience holistic development, SMC brought its high school students to a journey of breaking barriers and defying convention in pursuit of knowledge with “Silent Sky” last February 09, 2019 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.
“Silent Sky” is based on the story of the early 20th century astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt who defied convention and discovered a pattern in the stars. It became the first step in a cosmic ladder that completely transformed humankind’s understanding of the vastness of the universe itself.
The cultural show, which is part of the outdoor education program, serves as opportunity for students to learn and develop skills and values beyond the four corners of their classroom.
Apart from watching the stage play, the students had a chance to visit the National Museum of Natural History, the GSIS Art Gallery, and the Yuchengco Museum.
