SMC students win in APSAM Academic Race 2019

SMC students have proven once again their exemplary performance in academics. The standards of our curriculum remained a strong force in making our students proficient in all subject areas.

The Junior High School team of Abdul Wahab Naina (Grade 9 Integrity), Jaqueline Palo (Grade 10 Resilience), and Andrea Li Santos (Grade 10 Resilience) emerged as this year’s Second Runner-up amongst 22 teams from different private schools of Muntinlupa. They performed extraordinarily well from the eliminations up until the finals by getting high scores in Math, Science, and Social Studies.

The APSAM Academic Race aims to promote excellence in Science, Math, Communication Arts (English and Filipino), and Social Studies (HEKASI and Araling Panlipunan) and uplift the academic standing of private schools in Muntinlupa in the National Achievement Test (NAT) and the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE). The activity also serves as venue for awareness as regards developments in the fields of Science, Mathematics, Communication Arts and Social Studies.

The 2019 APSAM Academic Race, which was participated in by Junior high School students was held last October 08, 2019 at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex West Wing.

SMC student brings home more medals from Tournament of Champions in Yale University

Fresh from her amazing feat in the World Scholar's Cup Global Round in  Manila,  Margareth Tapac of Grade 10 Resilience went straight to Connecticut, U.S.A. and successfully represented the country in the Tournament of Champions.

Gayeth competed in the tournament’s point-earning events: Scholar’s Bowl, Scholar’s Challenge, Collaborative Writing, and Team Debate and were tested across 6 areas of discipline: Literature, Social Studies, Science and Technology, Art & Music, History, and Special Area and brought home 5 medals  (4 Silver and 1 Gold).

The World Scholar’s Cup aims to provide a different taste of academic competitions and conferences; a celebration of the joy of learning, a tournament as rewarding for the team that came in last as the team that came in first, and an enrichment opportunity that motivated students not just to demonstrate their existing strengths but to discover new ones.
